Acid reflux and Heartburn


Acid reflux: Acid from your stomach goes back up your esophagus.
Heartburn: Uncomfortable burning sensation right behind the breastbone that often creeps up the throat.
Ø It is actually possible to have reflux without heartburn, but it is not possible to have heartburn without reflux.
Ø If you experience acid reflux more than a twice a week, you may have Gastroesophgeal reflux. (GERD)
Ø Heartburn is one of the symptoms along with coughing and chest pain.

*    Watch how you eat: Don’t eat mouthful and stomach full food.eat smaller bites and slowly, allowing your stomach time to digest and without giving it an excuse to pump out excess acid
*    Watch what you eat: Avoid the foods cause acidity, acid refluxes, like spices and junk foods                                                  
*    Watch when you eat: maintain some 4 to 5 hours gap for every meal, immediate lying on bed after meal cause more pressure on digestive system.

Green remedies for Acid reflux and Heartburn
1. Ginger tea:
Ginger root can help to treat number of GIT related symptoms like nausea, Acid reflux and Indigestion etc….
Sipping a cup of ginger tea before meal can calm down your tummy and acts as acid buffer.
Preparation of ginger tea:  select fresh gingers and wash then slice up roots in to small pieces and add cup of water in a utensil and simmer gently for 15 to 20 minutes before meal

2. Aloe juice:
Aloe is a plant used to soothe burns; it also helps to treat heartburn and reduces inflammation.
If you feel your stomach gets irritated, inflamed, or your esophagus feels burning sensation try ½ cup of Aloe juice, remember that aloevera can act as a laxative.

3. Banana or Apple:
Eat well ripen one Banana daily, banana is an antacid, it acts as a     buffer against reflux. Apple also helps when you feel discomfort with GIT.
4. Mustard:
Mustard is an Alkalizing food that is full of minerals contains weak acid in the form of vinegar. It neutralize the acid that may come creeping up your throat,
5. Quit smoking:
Smoking damages lower esophageal sphincter, which is responsible for preventing stomach acids from back up.

Fried foods
Citrus fruit juices
Caffeine
Onions /Garlic
Alcohol
High fat food
Tomato sauce  

Eat Foods that Help

High protein food
Fiber foods
Non spicy or less spicy food
Fruits
